Mrs. Schroeder's Rock Stars want to wish this birthday guy a Happy 6th Birthday on September 1st!! Boone was super excited about his birthday and brought us lots of treats to enjoy:) We hope you have a great day Boone!!

Hi everyone!! Another week of kindergarten is behind us!! Can you even believe how fast it is going? We have been working so hard I thought I would share all of the stuff we have been learning!

 In literacy we have been discussing some important questions about who is in our family, why we are special, and what we can do. We have also been learning about reading left to right, the number of words in a sentence, syllables, nursery rhymes, and of course reading LOTS of books!! We have also been introduced to two new words; CAN and I!! I see how much smarter the kids get every day and I can not wait to watch them develop into awesome readers!!

In math we have been learning about numbers from 1-10 and even about graphing. The kids love to show off the big words we've been learning, like vertical and horizontal. We continue to draw scenes in our counting books and read Anno's Counting Book!! We just LOVE it!!

In unit studies we have been talking about safety!! We practiced calling 911, we discussed what an real emergency is, how to stop, drop, and roll (Mrs. Schroeder even tried this:) ), we learned our address, and about stranger safety. Please continue to discuss these things with your child at home. I want them to always be safe!! Also, be watching for the AWESOME safety book we made!!

We've also been doing LOTS of singing!! We learned a Days of the Week song, a fish song, and lots of cool math songs!! We have some great singers!!

First Week of School!!

Hello everyone!! We are having a great time being rock stars in kindergarten!! It has been so much fun getting to know all of our new friends. We are working SO hard on following the school rules...being safe, respectful, and responsible. They are so excited about the keys to success!! Thank you so much for being supportive of our behavior plan at school. I know that we are going to have a awesome year in kindergarten!!
